How it works

Filed on EDGAR.In your system in 90 seconds.

  1. 01

    A company files an 8-K

It lands on SEC EDGAR, often with a press release attached as EX-99.1.

  2. 02

    We read it

Within 90 seconds the filing and its exhibits become one event: headline, summary, event type, impact score, filing link.

  3. 03

    You poll for what's new

Call GET /events with from set to your last check, plus any filters. Each new event is an alert; route it to Slack, a model or a screen.

The request (fields from the GET /events reference)
# New events since your last check, impact 3 and up
curl "https://api.insighthread.com/v1/events?from=2026-10-21T16:40:00Z&impact_min=3&limit=100" \

What is an 8-K?

The current report a US public company files with the SEC within four business days of a material event: a deal, an executive change, quarterly results, a bankruptcy. Each event is filed under a numbered item, such as 2.01 for a completed acquisition.
